Give it to God

Ever wanna just make decisions for yourself even though you know you should give God control? I know I can have problems like that myself. You wanna ask God "Why is this happening to me?" Well, let me give you a little story of mine...

Through this week, I've been debating with myself on how to give myself completely over to God. How to leave everything in 'His' hands and let his will be done. But I couldn't understand just how I could let someone else take care of my life and let him take control. So a struggle for me has been giving 'All' of it over to him. Not just 'some' of it. Well, as the week went on. A friend shared a verse with me

Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I found this verse very interesting. But God wasn't done. This Sunday, Before youth group, my cousin, my sister and I were discussing on this very subject. And yet again, this very verse was brought up in conversation. Now I was quite intrigued with this verse because it kept popping up wherever I went. Well, after that off we went to youth group. And as we started our lesson, yet again, this very verse was brought up AGAIN. Now I was asking God "Okay God, what are you trying to tell me?" Then it hit me. I thought back on the events of this week, and they all matched together. Just like a puzzle. He planned them out so perfectly. And yet again, he never fails to amaze me...

So, next time you just wanna go "God, why is this happening? Why did you let this happen?" Keep in mind, God has a plan, you just gotta trust him and give it all to him. When a door closes, it's God's way of saying "I have something better..."

  1. Nice post! We were just discussing the very subject today in class (although, more on the lines of 'why does God allow bad things to happen to Christians'). We've been studying Ezra this week and also on the same subject in Job. A comment my professor made really stuck out: "Stop asking God 'why,' and start asking Him 'what!'" Sometimes we have circumstances in our life and we ask God why did He allow it, but in reality, it happened for our own good that we do not see. So in those cases; instead of asking Him why he allowed it, ask Him what He wants us to learn and get out of it!
